Here is the same 20 GB / 30-day plan, priced side by side, with the source and date on the table.

Airalo is the biggest name in travel eSIMs and a fine product. It is also, on most destinations, roughly twice the price of the same plan on the same local networks. The table below is pulled from esimradar.com on 2026-09-05, not typed by us — 15 of 16 popular destinations come out cheaper here.

Competitor prices are the cheapest same-spec plan (20 GB, 30 days or the nearest match) listed on esimradar.com, checked 2026-09-05. Our prices are live checkout prices. Prices change; verify before you rely on them.

Why the prices differ so much

Almost every consumer travel eSIM brand — us included — resells capacity from the same few wholesale aggregators. Nobody in this list owns a tower. In Japan, for example, several brands sell the same NTT docomo / SoftBank / KDDI package at prices from about $12 to over $25. What you are comparing is markup and marketing budget.

Questions people ask before switching

Is Landed eSIM cheaper than Airalo?

On 15 of the 16 popular destinations in the table above, for the same 20 GB / 30-day plan, as of 2026-09-05. Both brands resell wholesale capacity from the same handful of aggregators, so in most countries you are on the same local networks and the difference is the markup.

What does Airalo do better?

Scale and ecosystem: more years in market, more reviews, an Android app, top-ups on most plans, and a referral program. If you value a long track record over price, Airalo is a perfectly reasonable choice.

Are the networks the same?

Often, yes. Consumer travel eSIM brands generally do not own networks; they buy from wholesale aggregators that hold the roaming agreements. Our plan pages list the exact local networks each plan uses.

Can I keep my number with either?

Yes. Both are data-only travel eSIMs that sit alongside your existing SIM. Your number, WhatsApp and iMessage keep working; turn off data roaming on your home line so it does not bill you.

What is your refund policy?

An unused, uninstalled Landed eSIM is refunded in full within 30 days through a self-service link. If it installs but will not connect, we replace it or refund it. Check Airalo's current terms directly for theirs — we do not restate other companies' policies.
